HempPatch
The HempPatch features a hand dyed and decorated hemp clothing, hemp jewelry, rayon clothing, cotton clothing, Native American beadwork, backpacks, purses, pouches, and medicine bags. The HempPatch derived its name from the appliquéd hemp patches on tie dyed T shirts that proved to be a best seller. HempPatch clothing is different than the usual fare, more like "haute hemp".
This year, 2007, the HempPatch has added a Belly Dancer's Trunk with tribal bellydance attire such as cholis, (cropped stretchy backless leotard-like tops), hip adornment, skirts, and vests. HempPatch jewelry is in two categories--hemp cord knotted chokers, necklaces, and pendant necklaces with gemstones, African beads, clay beads, recycled African glass beads, trade beads, turquoise and silver, and handmade glazed ceramic beads from Ruby Mountain Ceramics in Ione, WA.
The HempPatch was mainly a juried arts and crafts festival vendor until this year, when it went online. The web site is PayPal driven for security in online ordering, but customers can also mail order via phone or email if they wish to order conventionally. Also featured on the site are the "Working Spliffs", a reggae, rock, and jamband with T-shirts made by the HempPatch, and their new CD, "Afro Zen Burrito". We also promote environmentally sound practices.
